Reflection
In the brainstorming section, I had a conversation between my two personas. The overall discussion provided me with many new ideas and areas that need further refinement. First and foremost, user choice is crucial. They need the option to choose between public and private dreams. Additionally, there should be a feature to enable dream sharing, allowing friends, partners, or family to establish a communication channel. Secondly, users should be able to adjust the time limit for their dream journal. This way, users can select different time periods for recording their dreams, whether it's weekly, monthly, and so on. I also need to consider users' opinions on the analysis results, which requires the creation of a feedback section. This will help refine the entire system over time and with multiple analysis instances, understanding how users perceive the analysis results.
The target users are likely to be skeptical of the analysis results and may require more supportive answers or real-life examples. Therefore, I believe it's important to incorporate an offline expert lecture program and provide summaries of previous expert discussions, allowing users to access more professional information. Additionally, enabling user-to-user discussion and interaction on the forum page will help users find similar dreams and enhance their understanding of the analysis results.
I rethought the logo's color and chose to use three gradients as the primary options. Gradient colors give a sense of two colors intermingling, reflecting the two dimensions of dreams and reality. Furthermore, gradient colors can emphasize the nature of the dream theme. Regarding background graphic patterns, I emphasized fragmented geometric shapes. This concentrated distribution represents the organization of fragmented content in dream analysis for users.
I also tried various imagery processing methods, and currently, I believe bitmaps are more aligned with the theme.
Brainstorming Q&A
For a Novelist:
As a novelist, what is your purpose when using a dream analysis website?
What functions and features would you like it to have to support your intended use?
Would you choose to believe in long-term dream analysis or short-term analysis, and why?
Have you used dream analysis websites before? What were some aspects that didn't meet your expectations?
Answers
Dream analysis is sometimes used to drive novel plots, and personally, I prefer to apply it in suspenseful situations. For instance, the female protagonist might recall forgotten key details from her childhood dreams, or in a more mystical twist, the deceased might send dreams to a character to advance the plot further.
I'd like to see real-life examples related to these dreams. For instance, if dreaming of bleeding teeth leading to wealth, I hope there's a corresponding story.
This depends on the individual's preference, but from my personal experience, most people opt for short-term analysis because dreams themselves are short-lived. A few people who have recurring dreams may choose long-term analysis.
I have used dream analysis websites, and many of them provide references. However, the analysis of the same dream can have multiple references with different explanations, and there is no exact standardized answer.
For a Couple:
As one of the partners in a relationship, what is your purpose when using a dream analysis website?
What functions and features would you like it to have to support your intended use?
Would you choose to believe in long-term dream analysis or short-term analysis, and why?
Would both you and your partner use it, or would you want to understand each other's dreams?
Have you ever used a dream analysis website? What were some aspects that didn't meet your expectations?
Answers
If I were one of the partners in a relationship and still using this dream analysis website, I might be. For example, sometimes I dream of arguments and breakups with the other person, and in the dream, I might go to the website to analyze it, to see if it represents my subconscious desire to end the relationship or something like that. Yes, this might be one of the purposes of using it.
I hope its user interface is very simple. Ideally, just like ChatGPT, it has an interface for asking questions, and I can send questions, and it will respond based on my questions. And, of course, after its response, I hope it can have some functions. For example, if the answers it provides are not what I want, or if I feel it didn't understand my question, I can ask further questions.
I think dream analysis may be something for the long term, but in the long term, my usage frequency may not be particularly high because, after all, I don't always remember my dreams. Yes, I often can't remember the content of my dreams, but sometimes I might, for example, after a long time, I suddenly have a strange dream, and at that time, I might use this website again.
The fourth question, perhaps, because if there is such a website, I find it very interesting, and I would share it with my partner. This website would be recommended to them. Sometimes, between my partner and me, we share interesting dreams, and we also try to interpret the meaning in those dreams. So, at that time, this website would be a very useful tool.
I haven't tried using similar websites, but I have indeed, in the past, read some dream interpretation books. However, the analysis didn't yield the expected results; its credibility was relatively low for me
